Is this program academic like ESY or more like a summer camp?
It’s truly the best of both worlds. We incorporate structured learning and skill-building similar to ESY, but in a fun, engaging, and flexible environment that feels much more like a summer program. Our goal is to help children make progress while still enjoying their summer.
Should my child do this instead of ESY?
No, this program is designed to complement ESY, not replace it. We thoughtfully scheduled our hours so that children can participate in both. When combined, the two programs can create a schedule that more closely mirrors a full camp day. Since we are located in Ocean Township, our hours were designed around the local ESY schedule. We understand that other districts may have slightly different times and are happy to work with families when possible. If your child may need to arrive late due to ESY, please don’t hesitate to reach out, we’re happy to discuss options.
Who is this program best suited for?
This program is ideal for children who benefit from more individualized support than a traditional summer camp can typically provide. Many of our participants are in self-contained or smaller classroom settings during the school year and thrive in a structured, supportive environment with a low student-to-staff ratio.
What does a typical day look like?
Each day includes two- three hours of structured learning and social interaction led by a special education teacher, followed by a one-hour therapy block that rotates throughout the week (speech/social skills, physical therapy, and occupational therapy). Fun, engaging activities are incorporated throughout each session to keep children motivated and excited to participate.
How many children are in each session?
Each session is limited to 5 children, allowing for a highly individualized and supportive experience. Spots are very limited.
Will this be covered by insurance?
We are an out-of-network provider, but we can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Coverage depends on your individual plan and we would be happy to guide you through the process and support you in obtaining reimbursement for parts or all of the program.
